I like to see my articles in print but for the first time even my pictures were printed, and I am mighty pleased about it 🙂 TheHorticultural Show last week was organized by Haritha Priya; a plant lovers club. It was started just a year ago with the express purpose of increasing awareness of a green environment. It was the first show of its kind in the new state of AP.The CM, Chandrababu Naidu, visited the venue and lauded the efforts of the members.
There was zealous participation in the various competitions; vegetable carving, Cactus, Garden in a pot, in a tray, Adenium, Bonsais and herbal plants. Ikebana was a special attraction and was displayed by ladies from Hyderabad. People from neighboring towns too participated with their exhibits. People showed off their artistic talents and created some amazing exhibits. Sharing with you a few of the pictures I took at the show.
Huge crowds thronged the place and there were brisk sales by the nurseries from Kadiyam, Pune, Mumbai, as well as local vendors. There was lots of interest in Organic farming and creating organic compost from kitchen waste. Women have come forward in large numbers and joined the club.
Pumpkins carved into various shapes of Shiva lingam, Ganesha and a Fish.
Haritha Priya is a committed volunteer organization persistent towards conservation of the environment through such endeavors.
My articles in The Times Of India are few but I am quite proud about them.I think I should hone my photography skills now.
